Discover Ibiza’s wild northwest on a guided hike to The Gates of Heaven, a spectacular natural balcony suspended above the Mediterranean.
Leave the island’s busy resorts behind and walk through Pla de Corona, one of Ibiza’s most peaceful rural landscapes. Follow paths bordered by almond, carob and olive trees before gradually entering a pine forest scented by Mediterranean vegetation.

As you approach the coast, the countryside gives way to dramatic cliffs. Glimpses of the deep blue sea appear between the trees, the landscape becomes increasingly rugged and the Ses Margalides islets emerge offshore. The largest islet features an extraordinary natural arch that can be seen from the heights.

Then reach the highlight of the hike: The Gates of Heaven. From this clifftop viewpoint, gaze down upon a turquoise cove enclosed by towering rock walls. The contrast between pale stone, wild vegetation and intensely blue water creates one of northern Ibiza’s most photogenic settings.
Take time to find your angle, enjoy the panorama and capture the signature photograph of the experience. The route remains above the cliffs, with no technical descent to the cove and no swimming.

Continue walking through the landscapes of Pla de Corona before reaching a small restaurant beneath the pine trees near the viewpoint. Pause in this peaceful natural setting and, if you wish, order a drink or local speciality at your own expense.
